We’ve been wanting to check out St Augustine for a while and we were able to visit this past weekend.
We made a pit stop at Buc-ees in Daytona Beach, which is a gas station with over 100 gas pumps and a convenience store the size of a supermarket. They also claimed to have the cleanest bathrooms at a gas station so of course we had to see for ourselves.
It was true, the bathrooms were pretty clean and there are snacks on snacks and BBQ and jerky for days.
We got a few souvenirs and snacks and made our way to St Augustine.
It’s not a huge town, but it has a lot of history. We didn’t do any tours or anything, but just walked around St. George St. where there were a lot of little boutiques and restaurants. The kids also played at a little playground too.
We also checked out the beach and the pier which made me realize that we should definitely make more beach trips cuz the vibe and fresh air is so important. We’re always indoors and don’t go outside to enjoy the outdoors so it was a nice change.
The next day we drove to the Orlando area, Davenport to be exact, to visit my sister and nephew at their house. My sister and her boyfriend bought their house about a month ago so it was nice to see it in person and the changes they made.
My nephew had no idea we were coming so it was a cute surprise!
Then, we checked out a cute citrus grove called Showcase of Citrus down the road and it was fun to see the citrus groves and feed some of the animals that were there. Lots of photo ops too!
Overall, it was a good weekend spent with family.
