In an effort to keep track of progress, I’ll be posting my workout summaries here. I used to post these on IG stories but I’ve decided to take a break from posting on social media and stick to posting things on this platform instead – which has been neglected for quite a bit!
More on that later…
I hadn’t been to the gym in a few days due to Hurricane Dorian watch, which got us all in a panic, and the gym was closed for a couple days. Luckily, we weren’t affected by the Hurricane but in an effort to being cautious, we had to prepare our home for the worst. Today I was able to go and get back into my routine.
I typically go to my Orange Theory Fitness (OTF) class at 5:15am so I wake up at 4:15am to get myself awake and ready. The class is an hour so it goes by fast and I feel energized (and sweaty) by the end of the class.
I try to go 3-4 times a week to get my membership worth. Having these workout summaries motivate me and make me feel like I’ve accomplished something that day, which is why I enjoy this workout so much.
Since I got really serious, about 2 months ago, I’ve lost 7 lbs. I haven’t done a weigh in in a while, but I’ve also been meal prepping which has helped in not having to worry about what to eat in a given day. I’m so busy during the day that those prepared meals help me not go out and buy something fast and unhealthy.
It’s still a process, but my goals are to be consistent with my workout, build some muscle and slim up a bit. I also want to be able to incorporate more veggies and fruit in my life – less processed = better!
Oh, yes, about my social media “fast”
For a few days I removed Facebook, Instagram and Twitter off my phone to see how I could manage without checking those social media platforms constantly. I realized that doing this gave me a lot more free time! And could really manage without it!
I have since added Instagram back on my phone, but I keep myself signed out so it’s not easy to just open it up without having to log back in.
So here’s to more free time without mindlessly scrolling throughout the day and focusing on being healthier mentally and physically! 😊
